About

A baseball writer, high school coach who has attended New York Yankee games since 1971, and was at the last game in the original Yankee Stadium. Those tickets were courtesy of Yankee HOF shortstop Phil Rizzuto.

I played college baseball at Marietta (OH) College and appeared in the 1985 Division 3 College Baseball World Series. My old school are two-time defending National titles wining in 2011 and 2012.

I was a weekly guest on “The Shore Sports Report” every Friday at 5:30 PM EST. http://www.foxsports1310.com/shoresportsrpt.cfm until they received a bigger gig with ESPN radio.

I am a fan of all sports but concentrate mainly on baseball and football. This is my new blog page, but you can check out my past writings on my blog at www.josephdelgrippo.com.

Now you can go to my page at Bleacher Report where I WAS a New York Yankee Featured Columnist.

You can also follow me on Twitter. http://twitter.com/Joe_DelGrippo.

My philosophy for teams is to let young players develop through their own system rather than going after big money free agents. Most teams throughout history win via their young players and farm system. Free agents should complement the home grown players, not the other way around.

I would like to get an opportunity to work professionally in the sports business, either as a writer, baseball scout or sports talk host. I take pride in my deep knowledge of the game, the research generated to back up my thoughts and ideas, and I present my points in an articluate and entertaining manner.

If you give me a chance, I will not disappoint.

  1. Hi Joe,

I am writing to you from FanVsFan.com, a sports debate website and blog aggregator. I wanted to guage your interest in writing a VIP blog for us. You would be paid at a $1.00 eCPM. You would retain complete control and ownership over the domain. We could either move over your existing blog to our platform, or we would purchase a brand new domain for you which you would write on. We’ve already recruited a few BR writers (see clevelandsportsgirl.com, newyorkunderdogs.com), and I think you’d be a great addition. We have over 35 VIP blogs in the network and are looking to add many more over the coming months. Also, we are in talks with both a major network and radio show for possible opportunities in the future. We are growing and adding people all the time.

Please let me know if you are interested and I can set you up with your own VIP blog. Look forward to speaking with you.

    Thanks,
    Matt
